Alberta identifies 2,012 new cases of COVID-19, active cases rise over 23,000

CALGARY (660 NEWS) — Alberta identified 2,012 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday.
The newly reported cases come after more than 15,000 tests were completed, giving the province a positivity rate of over 13 per cent.
Of the new cases, 1,900 are variants of concern. Variant cases now make up nearly 64 per cent of all active cases in the province.

With Monday’s numbers, the province now has 23,608 active cases of COVID-19.
As for hospitalizations, 658 people are in hospital, with 154 being admitted to the ICU.
Four additional deaths were reported on Monday.
