City looking for feedback for Calgary fire station

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – Big plans are in the works for fire station #17 In Varsity, and the city is looking for feedback.

There is an open house from 5:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday night at the Varsity Acres Presbyterian Church.

Susan Specht with the City of Calgary said the redevelopment includes a new five-bay fire station, city services and community space.

“As part of the Calgary affordable housing strategy and municipal development plan, the city envisions creating opportunities for affordable housing in every Calgary community. The Varsity site is close to amenities, such as transit and grocery stores, which is key criteria in selecting where to build Calgary housing.”

A second open house will be held on Saturday from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm also at the Varsity Acres Presbyterian Church.
