COCHRANE (660 NEWS) — Cochrane RCMP are seeking the public’s help in identifying a man who was involved in a road rage incident on Jan. 10 around 8 p.m.

A composite sketch of the man, done by an RCMP sketch artist, has been released.

According to RCMP, the issue arose after a woman in a GMC Sierra was stopped at a red light and another driver on the opposite of her flashed his lights to try an indicate that her high beams were on.

However, when the woman indicated that her lights were not high beams, the man in the vehicle started gesturing wildly. As both vehicles were turning southbound onto 5th Ave., the man slammed on his brakes causing a rear-end collision.

Both drivers then exited their vehicles, and that’s when RCMP say the man approached the woman who was driving the Sierra and began to yell, punch and kick her. The woman suffered bruising and is shaken up, but did not require hospitalization.

He’s described as a man in his mid-40s with a small and slender build, thinning blond hair and either a blond moustache or goatee. The man’s vehicle is described as a red or black SUV with some minor damage to the back end.

Witnesses who were in the area of 5th Ave. and Glenbow Dr. in Cochrane on Jan. 10 are asked to contact Cochrane RCMP by calling the detachment at (403) 851-8000, or if you wish to remain anonymous you can contact Crime Stoppers by phone at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), by internet at www.tipsubmit.com, or by SMS.
