No injuries after early morning fire in City’s southwest

CALGARY (660 NEWS) — An early morning fire has damaged a single family home in the southwest community of Bankview. It happened along 14A St. near 22nd Ave.

According to Battalion Chief Bruce Barrs crews were called out shortly after 3 a.m.

“On arrival, crews found smoke showing from the upper levels of the home. Crews were able to quickly gain access to the interior, locate the sea of the fire, and knock down any visible flames.” Barrs said.

Barrs says two people were home at the time but got out on their own before firefighters arrived. Nobody was hurt, and investigators are now looking into the cause of the blaze.
