CALGARY (660 NEWS) — It was a small gesture that made William Steele’s day.
A Calgary Transit driver stopped for a quick coffee at a Tim Hortons, Steele jokingly yelled out “Hey, I’ll have a double double!”
“Oh my God. He got me a cup of coffee! I am watching him walk from the store up to here (the bus), and he’s got two cups,” explained Steele.
Harpreet Gill, the transit operator, said he didn’t think much of it.
“He was so surprised that I bought him a coffee, to me it’s not a big deal. I just bought a cup of coffee, but he really appreciated that.”
Steele added that if you want to feel warm inside, make others feel the same way.
“Don’t look down at them, don’t look up to them, just look them in the eye and treat them as equals,” Steele said.
He was able to return the favour on Thursday by buying Gill a cup of coffee.
