CALGARY (660 NEWS) — The City of Calgary is looking for opinions on whether or not to allow liquor consumption in parks.
According to the city they’re exploring the topic themselves after public desire was expressed in the 2018 Parks and Pathway Bylaw engagement.
Alcohol would only be allowed in designated picnic areas and would have to be consumed with food.
If the response to the engagement is positive, the city could launch a pilot project this summer and assess the impacts and decide whether to allow liquor on an ongoing basis.
Calgarians can give their input online from January 17th to January 31st.
